A Southwest Virginia man is being held without bond tonight after a reported shooting in Norton. Dispatchers in Norton, Virginia received a call just before 6a.m. Sunday about a person who had been shot and was at the Norton Community Hospital. When officers arrived they spoke to both a female and male at the hospital.

A bus from West Georgia Technical College was carrying 13 passengers when it side-swiped a tractor trailer, ran off the road and became overturned in Pulaski County, Virginia early Friday morning. The driver, 59-year-old Willie F. Walker, was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.

Police originally responded to the area just after 9:30 p.m. for a reported crash in the 700 block of East Little Creek. When police arrived, they found a man inside the car suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police arrest suspect in Exxon robbery on Hershberger Road
Alcohol may have contributed to a wrong way crash that happened Tuesday evening in the 3500 block of Holland Road, according to police. Police say a man was driving eastbound on Holland Road when he noticed a 2003 Ford Mustang driving the wrong-way. When the driver saw the car coming towards him, he tried to steer to the right to avoid the crash. However, the Mustang hit the driver’s side front quarter panel of his car.
