An aggravated malicious wounding charge against a Newport News woman was lowered in court Friday morning. Kiara Hall, 27, was arrested last September after a 13-month-old baby suffered injuries that left her hospitalized. Detectives with the Special Victims Unit found that Hall was the child’s sole caretaker. Friday, her initial charge was lowered to malicious wounding.
A Henrico man has been charged with felony hit-and-run after a two-vehicle crash left a victim with life-threatening injuries. Richmond Police say 29-year-old Andre W. Howard was arrested Wednesday, with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force. Crime Insider sources say Howard was found inside of a closet inside a home.
Firefighters with Hampton Fire and Rescue are working a condo fire in the 10 block of Hollis Wood Drive Wednesday night. Authorities said the fire started at approximately 8 p.m. Two people have been taken to a local trauma center for treatment. A woman has been critically injured, while another person is suffering from severe injuries.
