The riot police advanced down the street, and then 6+ police vehicles came in from the side . It looked like everyone got out long before the police actually got to the intersection

Still very much an active scene here. Residents said they heard "many shots" before stepping outside to see what happened. Almost every complex building in the area has people on their decks watching the continued investigation
Henrico PD is on scene at St. Luke Apartments. Detectives are investigating a shooting involving a juvenile victim with critical injuries. There are a lot of concerned residents trying to figure out what happened.
Henrico Police confirm the victim in this shooting is a juvenile. NBC12 has a crew headed to the scene

A 19-year-old man is dead following an overnight shooting in Wythe County. The sheriff's office says a juvenile suspect is in custody. the victim’s name is 19-year-old Matt King
Grandview Ave NW in Roanoke is closed from Durham St to Churchill Dr NW due to a standoff with an armed individual.
This was another bizarre incident from further back but didn't understand in the moment.

A driver who was not part of demonstrations picked the wrong time to take Monument Ave home. Police opened a hole in the line to let him pass
Officers shuffle to keep the line strong. They've cleared the base of the statue and continue to stand ready with riot shields
